US-China Green Institute Engages in Constructive Dialogue with Xie Feng, China’s Ambassador to the United States

DES MOINES, IOWA, 10/26/2023 – The US-China Green Institute (USCGI), a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to fostering collaboration between the US and China on climate change and green initiatives, recently held a high-profile meeting with Ambassador Xie Feng, China's Ambassador to the United States, in Des Moines. This meeting underscores a significant stride in enhancing environmental collaboration between the world's two largest economies. 

Chaired by Jonathan Krane, CEO of KraneShares, a New York-based asset manager, the USCGI's mission is to ensure continued constructive engagement between the US and China in addressing the pressing challenges of the climate crisis. Other distinguished members in the meeting included Terry Branstad, Former US Ambassador to the People's Republic of China and former Governor of Iowa, and David Adelman, Former US Ambassador to Singapore. 

Key topics discussed during the meeting included: food and energy security, global peace and green development, agriculture, electric vehicles, and tourism.

Terry Branstad commented, “I'm immensely pleased that this significant meeting occurred in my home state of Iowa. China has always been a valuable partner for Iowa's agriculture industry, and the potential for further collaboration in areas like climate change is vast.”
